The Bacteriology Laboratory provides a wide range of diagnostic
services that are utilized by other hospital-based and private
pathology services.
This referral work includes the diagnosis of sexually transmitted
infections, identification of parasitic infections and the diagnosis
of Legionellosis.
In addition the laboratory provides a diagnostic service to a
group of medical clinics with special expertise in HIV/AIDS, sexually
transmitted diseases and travel medicine.
